The Time IS NOW

Time can seem to fly by, but does it really, or do we simply allow it to slip away? Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years are merely man's way of calculating the distant between where we have been and where we are going, but NOW is the "present" that God gives us.

I enjoy deadlines, (which I call milestones, because when you accomplish something it should be a building block not an ending block).  However it is in the smaller daily choices, the now choices, that make the biggest difference. God showed me the power of now choices in His first book. It is written in the first three chapters of Genesis what God did in the NOW:
  • (1:2 NKJV)-"Now the earth was formless and empty..."
  • (2:8 NKJV)-"Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden, and there he put the man that he formed"
  • (2:19 NKJV)-"Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name."
  • (2:23 NKJV)-"The man said, "This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called "woman", for she was taken out of man."
I love these sequential verses, because the first three state what God did in the now, while the forth verse is man speaking now for himself. Our disciplined choices keep us forward thinking, yet performing in the now. God knows that what we do now determines who we become tomorrow.

Adam spoke now, but became caught up in where he was going instead of who God made him to be. The devil used the future to distract Adam and Eve from the now. Adam and Eve chose to take their now and trade it in for what they thought was something better, but in their now decision they changed the destiny of all mankind.

We are called human beings and to "be" is a now word. As a "being" we where created, by God, to make now count. One of my favorite verses is Gen. 1:3, "And God said, Let there be light, and there was light,". God did not say someday there will be light or on Tuesday light will shine, NO, He said let it be!

Years ago God spoke, right to my heart, the words, "IT IS TIME,". Since then He has been revealing, to me, what this means. For people time is constantly in motion, but I believe that for God time IS. "IS" is a now word too. So for me, I remind myself that in order to BE the time IS NOW.

It is important to have a vision and to learn from our past, but the real power is what we do right now. Now is a powerful "present" that requires us to take action today.  As “A Work in Progress”, we must set our clocks to the time of now so that we can get from where we are to where God knows that we can be!
