As "A Work in Progress" have you ever wondered, “What if I miss God’s plan for my life?” I know I have. But, I have discovered that – one of the greatest things about God is – He wants us to fulfill our dreams more than we do! Be encouraged today with this excerpt from the Forward Thinking section of my book FLIGHT:
Forcing a dream causes instability. If, however, we can tie our life to a dream God has created, then we can reinforce it and soar higher than we ever expected. I truly believe that God has already created a great work for us; all we have to do is find out what it is and live the rest of our lives reinforcing it.
Reinforce: to strengthen by additional assistance, support; to make stronger; to increase by fresh additions; to stimulate; to encourage
One of the best ways to reinforce a dream is to write it out and put it up. Write it in a frequented planner, magnetize it to the fridge, dry erase it on a bathroom mirror, tape it to the wall next to a nightstand, or Velcro it on the dashboard of the car; whatever it takes to reinforce it, do it! When we see something, we are stimulated. When we read it out loud we are encouraged. These two key forms of reinforcement help to keep our God-given dreams strong as we take them to FLIGHT. God knows the plans He has for us; He wants us to know that we know them, too.
God is in our corner – cheering us on, coaching us along, and reminding us that we can finish what we start. When we choose to work towards a God-given dream, we will develop confidence in Him. Rooted in God, we will confidently be more apt to recognize the dreams He plants in our hearts and able to pursue those dreams with both passion and perseverance. Once we recognize a God-given dream, God will help us to fulfill it.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
(Jer. 29:11 NIV)
